It’s in the title.
"Wrath and anger, these also are abominations, yet a sinner holds on to them. The vengeful will face the Lord’s vengeance; indeed he remembers their sins in detail. Forgive your neighbor the wrong done to you; then when you pray, your own sins will be forgiven. Does anyone nourish anger against another and expect healing from the LORD? Can one refuse mercy to a sinner like oneself, yet seek pardon for one’s own sins? If a mere mortal cherishes wrath, who will forgive his sins? Remember your last days and set enmity aside; remember death and decay, and cease from sin! Remember the commandments and do not be angry with your neighbor; remember the covenant of the Most High, and overlook faults."
-Sirach 27, 28
The title says it all.
The fruit of their devices.
The world is in chaos around us, and sometimes it feels senseless. But it isn't. God tells us here, through the example of Jerusalem, exactly why we face chaos: we cause it. The law of God is not a list of helpful suggestions; it is the only way that a human society can function according to its design, an instruction manual written by the inventor telling you exactly how to properly operate the machine. When we try to do things our own way and forget the instructions of God, we will inevitably break the machine. It is literally impossible to do otherwise.
It is easy to want to blame others and pat ourselves on the backs for being good people, but the fact is that each of us contributes to this decay. If we imagine that we are upright, we imagine that God agrees with everything we think and believe. But as a wise man once said to me, "if you find yourself thinking that God agrees with everything you already happen to believe, then it isn't God you worship, but yourself."
Following God requires dying to self. What beliefs are you holding onto that contribute to the chaos? What devices of yours help cultivate this evil fruit? Love God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Have a great Sunday, Pedes.
Think about it: these student-loan and celebrity funded 19 year olds have no real responsibilities. No wives and no kids. No real jobs to lose. There’s nothing practical stopping them from rioting in the streets because even on the extremely off chance that a rogue cop actually decided to arrest one of them and hell froze over and they actually got a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct, what would it hurt?
Meanwhile on our side, the media and politicians are against us. You probably have a job and a family to feed. You can’t be caught out in the street fighting these criminals...the celebrities aren’t going to come to your rescue. CNN isn’t going to run a flattering piece about your fight for justice.
All this is just to say: don’t get discouraged pedes. Our guys may not be rushing directly into the breach, but we’re going to take action strategically where it matters—ON NOVEMBER 3.
That's what our side is up against. Meanwhile, on our side you have responsible adults who believe in law and order, personal freedom, private property, moral decency, patriotism and pride in your country. We are the party of God-fearers who (usually) abide by the law, want voter ID, and think it's wrong to murder babies. We settle our disputes through the proper channels, and we take our anger and frustration to the voting booth. We are the party of families and we encourage marriage, children, and love of neighbor.
We will win this battle, and we will win this war. In the words of St. Maximilian Kolbe:
"In looking around us and in seeing so much evil all over the place, we would sincerely like to put an end to [it]...War against evil, therefore: relentless and incessant and victorious war."
