How about a cut and paste? Sure, it's fun to make us look it up, but Jesus Christ!!

I was wrong about Biden, but maybe I'm right about Byrne. Sigh.

And remember, “national security” really means “deep state security”, so there is no reason to not declassify EVERYTHING!

I can't disagree. It's bigger than the individual, of course. I guess it boils down to picking your battles (i.e. not engaging with lost cause brothers, for example :)) and seeing that the big picture matters, and not giving up on saving western civilization. I'm not giving up. At 65, I just need to focus on battles I can win.

Sadly, this IS now about power. But, if this becomes a contest for who has more power, then they win. Because they will have forever defined the game as a power struggle - which is exactly what they want. When the game is all about power, it's no longer about truth, logic, reason, morals, ethics, or even common sense. This is the essence of post modernism.

When power is the currency of the day and truth no longer matters then western civilization is doomed. That's their goal.

I've long said that there are two kinds of people - those who want to control others, and those who don't.

The lust for power in the heart of man is the problem. People who want to control others lust after power. But, we all are susceptible. It's just that the more susceptible among us - we call liberals and leftists.

What are you trying to accomplish with all your reminding, arguing, convincing, cajoling, shaming, etc? Are you simply trying to save face? To be right? To bring them to the light side? Who cares what evil people think of you?

You will never convince evil people to be good. The best you can hope for is to subtly influence the fence sitters who may be lurking (online) or observing (IRL) your "discussion".

My asshole brother virtually called me a racist for supporting Trump. He stopped just short, but got dangerously close. For the sake of our 95 year old mother, I still communicate with him on relevant matters. But, now I NEVER discuss politics with him (and haven't for many months) and he's smart enough to not bring it up anymore. In those rare cases when he can't help himself, I don't respond, walk away or remind him that I refuse to discuss politics with him under any circumstances. And I refuse to explain why (even when pressed hard). If he persists, I continue to refuse. He thinks "silence is complicity (with whatever imagined sins are bouncing around in his head)", when in fact my silence means that I don't care enough about him or his opinions to give him the time of day.

I don't care what he thinks of me anymore. I used to. Not caring what the other side thinks of you is very freeing. It lets you focus on much more useful ways to spend your time.

I respect that. I think our goals are the same: take out as many badies as possible. But, I'm probably older and less fit than you. You're probably full of vim and vigor. There's an old (and somewhat silly) saying that "old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance". So, my strategy is knife 'em one at a time from behind when they're not looking.

In the words of Jay Severin, "The only reason to learn Spanish is so that you can talk to your gardener".

Excellent summary and introduction to the topic. Thank you for clarifying. I think it's time to toss "co-equal" into the dustbin of history.

Works for me. But, can you cite some sources for that?

The judicial branch is co-equal. If the executive branch decides something, it’s just as valid as a judicial decision.

Fuck them all.

Why are these people such fucking douchebags?

There's no rule that says a senator has to pre-announce their objection.

Power never gives up peacefully. It's a one-way ratchet effect. The only way to "get it back" (which should not be your goal - because it will corrupt you, too), is to destroy it.

Sound familiar (Lord of the Rings)?

Not bigoted at all.

Discounting for woke-ness is rational and completely consistent with unbigoted merit-based assessment.

Anyone exhibiting woke tendencies is unquestionably a risky hire. Their work ethic and their moral and ethical foundations are certainly defective. This would make them a business liability.

Good explanation. Thank you. All the more reason for Pence to be fully prepared to do the most important thing anyone has done since Vasily Arkhipov prevented World War III in October 1962.

Why does the "news" on Rush's show refer to "president elect Biden"??
