OP, any chance you can give your sources for that data? I've been working my brother to leaving the left, and i know he'll ask for the source data if I show him that.

Because Reps tend to play by the rules and Dems don't. If you change the game allowing for less accountability in securing votes, then Dem votes will miraculously increase and Rep votes will strangely decrease. Rep votes will somehow get lost in the mail. And then suddenly reappear with all D boxes checked.

You believe or disbelieve my scenario, but wouldn't more secure voting be preferential? We make people carry ID to drive, to travel, and to even fucking buy liquor, but we're talking about something as important as voting being allowed by just mailing in a card with no proof of who sent it? Come on.

Atheist here, but always respectful of those with faith. I spent 30 years as a Catholic, and my whole family still believes, so I have no problem with religion. Anyway, I'm very certain I won't be going back to religion. But we're still cool and can have a beer, religious folk. I'm not one of those angry atheists.

Dude, you are a minority in TD. None of us think the way you do. Either you're a lefty troll trying to make us look bad, or you're an outright racist. Either way, I'm done with you.

Eek, yeah, that's not cool. I don't throw this word around, because it's done way too often and has lost its meaning, but you sound racist. Dude, we're all the same. I agree that there are definite class issues in America, but genetically, there's no difference between the races.

No, I'm very anti-left. But I am still a liberal. And what cherrypicking am I doing? This is my daily experience. I work in a cpa office.

So again, I think your issue is with class, not with race.

I'm a cpa and there are a few black folk in my office. We tend to not segregate, but I imagine they've gone to lunch together with no white people at times. I doubt you'd be inclined to cross the street for my fellow pencil pushers.

So is that a class thing or a race thing? Let's say the black folk were wearing suits and were obviously heading to the office. And then later the asian folk you ran into were thugs and acting like assholes. Or let's say they were white instead of asian? But still just as thuggish.

A racist thinks he is better than other races because of his race. A racist considers either his race as superior to others or other races as inferior to his. So, please, elaborate your position.

I don't vote for them anymore. I'm saying there is value in social programs so long as we can reduce the corruption within. Of course capitalism is how we all win, but a little assistance can also be beneficial. I'm aware that the left uses those programs to keep the impoverished under their thumb. I'm aware the left cheats and connives. But just because they've ruined a thing, it doesn't mean there wasn't some positives with it to begin with.

The latter. Republicans really haven't changed since he was around. The DNC has continued to shift left since then.

WalkedAway2018 -1 points ago +1 / -2

Fair enough, but left does not mean liberal. The DNC has been taken over by the left. We agree that the DNC is horrible.

But there are some liberal Democrats that are stuck. I was one of them 2 years ago. I was able to escape, but let's not write them all off. They would be great allies against the left.

WalkedAway2018 -1 points ago +1 / -2

I can't argue with that. I would agree that both parties have problems. The GOP just tends to be wet blankets. But the DNC is becoming INGSOC, and that is outright scary. So GOP it is for now.

But as far as liberals and conservatives, I dont mind either. I'm a liberal, but I'm pretty moderate. Most conservatives I meet are great people. I think at the end of the day, most of us are trying to get along and make this country better. We disagree on how to do so, but that's OK. In our disagreements, we can find error on both sides and improve.

But the left is not like us. They are authoritarians. They're un-American.

I'm not saying it'll be an easy fight, but I will do it just the same. The liberals need a party. We're not the same as conservatives. Now we're all patriots, which is great, and as things are right now, I will happily vote conservative to fight against socialism. But if we can win the war against the anti-American left, I would like to go back to arguing with you guys on policy. Friendly arguing, but arguing just the same. Until then, we stand united against the left.

WalkedAway2018 2 points ago +4 / -2

I agree with you 100%. Liberals and conservatives were able to work together in the 80s and 90s. We disagree on policy, but can have a drink and bullshit together. That's how it should be. There's no hate, just a disagreement in action. We can all live with that.

But the lefties will not negotiate. They are intolerable. They're tyrant authoritarians. They are everything this country fought against in the first 60 years on the 20th century. Liberals and conservatives need to stand united against this filth.

Yeah, I know. A racist is going to be racist to everyone. Not that I needed any more encouragement to be against their racism, but as a father of biracial Japanese and white kids, I really don't need these douchebags slinging insults at my girls one day.

I hate it. It's why I walked away. We need to get these pieces of shit out of office. I'll vote red as long as it takes to get these worms out of office.

Read the entirety of my post. There is good to be had in social programs, but not so long as they are abused like they are. Without a leg up, my family might still be living in poverty. But I used the program as it was intended and then ripped off the assistance as soon as I didn't need it anymore. It was a combination of the program and my own personal drive that got me out of the hole.
