Lockdown until we have a vaccine is not feasible. 12-18 months are the wishful thinking, best case scenarios. We've never gotten a vaccine to market that fast. It could easily be 3-4 years.

If we are going for herd immunity then you have more leeway to open up. You want the virus spreading a little faster in that case, since the immunity you get from COVID-19 may not last. You just don't want hospitals getting overwhelmed.

This is why we need treatments and they need to stop trying to sabotage HCQ+Zpack+Zinc and give it some real studies. It is meant to reduce virus replication so giving it someone already on a ventilator is too late.

They are really hesitant to apply laws because they don't want to discourage people from calling 911 if they aren't sure it is an emergency.

Typically it has to be an egregious abuse.

It is less to take over and more to try and run him as Obama's 3rd term. If I was making strategy for the Democrats I would pick Michelle Obama too.

The are completely submerged in identity politics at this point. All their candidates sucked. Their only hope is to get Obama voters out again. They best bet on doing that is just relying hard on name recognition. Biden was Obama's VP and Michelle is his wife.

It is just like when the Republicans put up George W. Bush in 2000 based on name recognition, touting him as a return to Reagan. If Biden/Michelle Obama wins it will go just as well too.

Michelle taking over when Biden crashes and burns is just a bonus for them.

Turkey was very useful for preventing Russian expansion in the past. Remember NATO's primary goal was to be a check on Russia in the cold war.

While the US doesn't personally benefit a ton from NATO and many of our European allies mistreat us, there are former Soviet block countries that would also be hurt. The kind hat hate communism because they experienced it first hand.

Warskull 3 points ago +3 / -0

It absolutely is. A lot of people treat the US the same as a European country. The US isn't like a European country. Germany has 80 million people, the US had 330 million. The US is more accurately compared to Europe as a whole.

Some areas got hit really hard and some not so much. The northeast is the worst because NYC still has the virus running out of control and infected all the surrounding area.

NYC should stay locked down, maybe past May. Other areas of the country can definitely re-open. Just quarantine NYC and start to re-open the rest of the country as areas get things under control.

At the same time, I'm okay with them keeping NYC on lockdown. NYC is the whole reason it spread to the rest of the state. It probably should stay closed longer than the rest of the state.

Right here.

with the help of Avera and Monument Health, they will treat “up to 100,000 people including outpatient and hospitalized patients with COVID-19

They are just mentioning the hospitalized patients because they are the core of the clinical trial. Outpatient means you go to the ER because you feel back, they give you a COVID-19 test, and if you turn out to have it they get you some HCQ that you take at home.

You know how reddit keeps reeeing for a randomized clinical trial where some people get HCQ and others get a placebo. This is it.

If HCQ does well here we could see it implemented nationwide.

Front page lie; page 8 tiny print retraction.

They get away with it again and again. Look at how many people still believe the bullshit stories about Nick Sandmann, even after the the full video came out. Even after a bunch of stories about members of the Black Israelites straight up murdering Jewish people.

There is a bullshit story about America hijacking a shipment of masks in Bangkok. Turns out the shipper sent them to the wrong place and upon arrive in america they were rerouted to the correct place. The story was a complete fabrication talking about American personally just taking mask shipments. Reddit still believes it.

There can't be long term immunity with a disease that constantly mutates.

It depends on how the disease mutates. We have vaccines for measles which is one of the most contagious diseases out there.

So far all the mutations of this virus have been close enough that one vaccine gets it all. Chloroquine working would actually help here, slowing the spread and reducing the chance of getting another mutation that needs a new vaccine.

The flu needs shots every year because it spread so much that there are tons and tons of strains that need different vaccines and it gets around so much it mutates new strains every year.

If we get the vaccine early enough we could stop before there are a bunch of mutations and this becomes another annual flu.

Tonic water isn't really tonic water anymore. It used to be quinine+carbonated water and you put some gin in it to make it more palletable.

Now tonic water is a tiny bit of quinine, sugar, and carbonated water. They turned it into a regular soda.

The whole reason the northeast is having issues is due to massive mismanagement from NYC. They infected the rest of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. They should have been locked down and should still be locked down.

Twitter lets you do that too, you just have to hope the people they decided are the bad guys die. Anyone who doesn't support an ultra left agenda is a bad guy according to twitter.

It is literally water. The only thing it does for you is the placebo effect.

The reason homeopathy made a comeback is because people will pay a ton for alternative medicine and selling water at a massive markup is highly profitable.

Blood letting is very old too.

Personally, I think we should divest from the WHO and form a new global health organization with our Asian allies. Then as it gets off the ground, have it take over the CDC, since they've been doing a fairly crappy job too.

Ankle monitors are fair for people who break quarantine. It is person specific and already has a bunch of protections around it. They were quarantined due to a confirmed COVID-19 test they then got caught breaking that quarantine. They are assholes running around spreading illness. A 14 day targeted quarantine is very reasonable.

Google trying to be big brother is the real issue.

The big perk of the flu vaccine is that it helps protect vulnerable populations. The elderly, those who have compromised immune systems, and medical workers who extremely likely to be exposed to it.

Plus ever at 25% vaccination it helps control the spread.

This is why even with HCQ treatment combo a vaccine is useful. Corona virus could turn into a second flu and a vaccination could help limit it.

and are telling anyone with covid to stay home because they don't want their patients infected.

People with COVID should stay home. Give them a prescriptions to the HCQ/Zpack/Zinc combo as soon as you know they have COVID, then have them stay home and rest. Don't let it ever get to the point of hospitalization.

Depends on who they are.

If they are a leftist, they absolutely deserve it. They don't give a fuck about your sources. The common reddit tactic is to offer no argument yourself, just attack the poster, scream they are wrong, and then say every source they provide isn't good enough and keep moving the goalposts. Just look at how reddit is handling the HCQ debate. They try to discredit Dr Fauci, say his study is no good, offer an even worse Chinese study as evidence it is better, and then say everything else is an anecdote. If they are acting in bad faith they absolutely deserve to be treated harshly.

Just be a bit careful, sometimes they genuinely want to look at your source and read more. Sometimes they aren't a leftist and you just got an opportunity to red pill them. While reddit is dominated by unemployed hard left nutjobs, there are still a lot of more moderate people there. The people on the center are getting more and m ore disgusted by the left every single day.

I've noticed a trend on reddit. Previously anything pro-Trump or not hard left would get downvoted into oblivion and attacked by tons of posters. The paid shills ran out. More conservative views are coming through, distrust of the media is bubbling up, reddit is losing control of their narrative. Only the most hard moderated subs are keeping their complete control.

It is simpler that that. People flock to authority in times of crisis. They want a strong, charismatic leader. Trump is that leader.

It even works for a crappy President. George W. Bush's approval went through the roof to 80% after 9/11. He managed to ride that out to being above 50% for the 2004 election.

Trump actually knows how to manage the bump.

Could they spot the lung damage with an X-ray? Those are more widely available and a lot of places will get you same day turn around.

Part of it is they are only allowing it used when people are severely ill, some end up being beyond the point of saving by the time they are allowed to be treated.

Being used outside of hospitals it where it can help the most. Other countries are adopting treat early. Give a 5 day regiment when they are first showing symptoms and diagnosed. That way they recover faster, stop spread, and don't take up hospital beds and ventilators in the first place.

He isn't just limiting its use as prophylactic, he is limiting its use for outpatient treatment.
