Even so much so that the people training for the CrossFit games don't actually use CrossFit to train strength. So many better ways that that garbage.

It's the same as saying that a randomly selected American died from Covid because according to the definition of overweight (BMI >=25) Americans encompasses roughly the same percentage ~73.6%

Wrong. It only works on a population level.

10000 overweight (25-30) and 10000 "normal". There will be more health problems in the overweight category.

Take one in each category. The probability that one is healthier than the other is at best a coin flip.

Averages vs individuals yield much different results.

Damn. You need to change your username and eat a cheeseburger and hit the weights. You're borderline soyboy.

Absolutely. You and I are definitely on the same page.

72% of all Americans are "overweight". This is statistically meaningless

To which you replied

There is no excuse to be overweight. It’s pathetic. Get your ass to the gym, eat unprocessed and Whole Foods, hike and be in nature, pick up active hobbies, stop watching television.

The 72% is derived from BMI. To just make a blanket statement that overweight = pathetic without the caveat of you using a different definition for overweight is why I said the comment is garbage.

You and I know the difference but some don't.

Yeah. I know that. The original reply for "no excuse to be overweight" is complete garbage.

My focus has been the big lifts (squat/press/deadlift). My favorite is the squat. I have a love hate relationship with it. Hit a 3 rep max at 325 a week ago. Going for a single at 335 today. I should hit it easily.

Diet is ok but I don't eat enough. I try to hit 150g+ protein a day and get a couple servings of fruit. I only eat stuff on the outside of the grocery store.

I'm considered "overweight" at 190 # and 5'10" but healthy as a horse. I lift heavy all the time. Supposedly 174# is the max I should be.... Meanwhile I'm trying to get to 200#+

It's called the Dilbert principle.

Cripes. You've argued with liberals too much. you're beginning to argue like them by basically putting words in my mouth that I didn't say.

Let's step through this so it might be more clear.

The problem is that people, in general, feel like they need their shitty spy software. We got along just fine in a world without Facebook. The root of the problem is societal, not software related.

So, I say that the problem is that people feel like they need to use Facebook (and twitter). Why?

Why do people use Facebook? I posit that it's used because people are lazy and their sense of community is gone. They also want attention that they don't seem to get. The solution starts in the home with a nuclear family. Communicate with your family. Communicate with your neighborhood. Go to church. Be engaged in real life. Be involved in your child's education. Make sure they are education is a classical liberal education. Pick up the phone instead of sending a text. Those are good first steps.

Solve the problem of why people use Facebook and their power diminishes vastly. Cutting the heads off a hydra will do little to solve it.

I'll restate my point that the solution to the problem is much much deeper that the superficial problem of the CEOs, it's a societal problem.

I hope that makes it a little more clear. The proximate cause is the CEOs but the root is sociatal. Fixing the proximate cause is just biding time. Fixing the root is more permanent. We should do both.

I think you missed the point I was making. Yes. Those two are a problem. And if you take out one of them, two more just like them will pop up. The problem is that people, in general, feel like they need their shitty spy software. We got along just fine in a world without Facebook. The root of the problem is societal, not software related.

Needs fixed before sending to the normies. En vogue. Not in vogue.

They're just two heads of a hydra. The underlying problem is the use of their software by the masses.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
