Air Handling manufacturers have been using UV lights for decades to kill anything in an airstream. Most places never buy the option though, unless it's a special installation(lab). 30 seconds in a UV chamber seems excessive though, good luck circulating any air at that rate. To circulate air at a decent pace, you would need a UV section the length of 2 school buses for 30 second exposure. When typically it's around 1.5-3ft long.
Not that simple, it's a complex situation to say the least.
