I posted this morning about waking up to discover that my brand new Trump flag had been spray painted with BLM. On the advice of some people here and some of my neighbors, I took the flag to the police station to make a report. I'm sure not much will be done but at least there is now a record of this in case further vandalism occurs. I will be taking gun safety classes and taking advantage of my 2nd amendment rights. And while at first I thought of not hanging up a Trump flag anymore, I have decided that I won't back down, although I'm scared. Since 2016, I have bought a new Trump flag every few months (as they get frayed and faded over time) and I have kept all the old ones because I couldn't bear to throw them away. So now I have one of my old flags hanging out front until I can get a new one. I'll take it down at night, though. On my way to the police station, I noticed that several speed bumps in my neighborhood had also been spray painted to say ACAB, 1312 and Stop Killing Us. We live in a rural area, off the main roads so this is shocking. I never thought this sort of thing would happen here. I'm aware now and won't take my safety for granted again.

This morning very early (barely light out) I woke up because I thought I heard a car running outside in front of my house. By the time I got to the window to look, whoever was there was already gone, but I noticed my brand new Trump flag had black paint on it. I just bought that flag, and had only hung it up yesterday afternoon. Now it is ruined by some cowardly asshole. At first I was angry but now I am scared and sad. I feel violated. I had thought about hanging our old Trump flag out in defiance, but honestly I'm too afraid to actually do it. What if they come back and spray paint my home or car? What if they assault me or someone in my family? Should I have called the police? I hate to waste their resources on this. The vandal(s) spray painted BLM (backwards) on the flag.
