Any foreigner caught censoring American political speech should have their visa revoked, any executive to have been determined to have taken instructions from China or any other hostile foreign power should be brought up on treason, any attempt to lie or cover up should be met with perjury and obstruction of justice charges. Nate Silver is to political polls as Paul Krugman is to economics. Both of them are overhyped hacks that sold out their respective professions. At some point they realized they could make money if they just told liberals what they wanted to hear rather than provide an unbiased, independent analysis (in other words, doing their job correctly). As a result, you will not find much substance or logical consistency from them. Hopefully after this election people will stop taking Nate seriously.

"They have it in the bag" doesn't make sense to me. Look at all their campaign appearances. They have almost nobody showing up for them. Even if their internal polls indicate that they are ahead, people still have to take time out of their day to go and vote. If nobody goes to their events, that means their so-called supporters have no enthusiasm. If a good movie is on TV next week, they may not get around to going outside and voting.
My point is that there is nothing to be gained from not having campaign appearances. If he is hiding in his basement he is scared of something. Either he is scared of having a stroke in front of people or he is afraid to face questions.
