The Governor of Mississippi says it well. “The fact is that in our state, throughout this pandemic, our approach has been to not only protect lives but also protect livelihoods,” Reeves said. “We have to get our economy rolling so that individuals can get back to work and I think that is critically important.”
In Reeves’ opinion, Mississippians can be trusted to make their own “good decisions” when it comes to the pandemic. And later, Reeves conceded that the state’s goal has never been about ridding themselves of the virus.
“Our objective has never been to rid ourselves of the virus or make sure that no Mississippian actually gets the virus because we don’t think that’s a realistic goal,” he said. “Our goal is to ensure that we protect the integrity of our healthcare system such that every single Mississippian that gets the virus that can get better with quality care receives that quality care.”

You imposed this mask mandate on our children against our will, stating that it was only “temporary”. The hospitals are not and never were overwhelmed. Stop this mask mandate now. It’s been nearly a full school year since you forced masks on our children. The goal was never to eliminate the virus. The vulnerable in this county have now been vaccinated. Teachers have been vaccinated. Citizens can make decisions for their own children. Enough of the School Board forcing health decisions against the will of parents. Make masks a choice.

Door knocking and sign waving is good. Social media only reaches a small percentage. The Democrats in my county have access to an Obama database with addresses, emails and phone numbers for everyone in the county. They use big Democrat money to gain access to the database and that’s how they beat the majority of our GOP candidates. Find someone in power to gain access to a similar list from the city or county server and share it with GOP candidates.

At a recent press conference, the medical professionals on DeSantis’ panel said masks are unnecessary. “‘There was no evidence that a mask mandate was effective in stopping cases from spreading,’ said Dr. Scott Atlas.”
According to this article, Governor DeSantis is laying the groundwork to overturn local mandates and set precedence for emergency powers to be temporary so that local government “temporary” mask mandates cannot be kept for a year or more against the will of the people.
We the people of Florida will no longer be held hostage by elected representatives hiding behind public figures in the local medical community. These doctors are biased due to top down pressure in addition to the CARES act funding they receive.
Instead of unelected medical advisors dictating public policy, the people of this county will get our voice back after nearly a year of forced masking if you work on legislation to stop the local government that is supposed to represent us from forcing masks on the people.
