In the grand scheme of things. Sheriffs are more out spoken because generally they are elected. City police and sheriffs hire from the same pool of people so saying one is more likely to be corrupt is false imo. You could make the argument that the heads of of each could breed corruption but corrupted people are elected all the time and corrupt people can just as easily be appointed. We have had people leave the city to go to the local sheriffs office and vice versa. So its the same pool of people they are using in an area for the most part. Large counties/cities have more play in getting officers/deputies from further away area usually due to pay or the specialized divisions they offer. I appreciate the op not just bashing police but trying to talk to people and ask. Lately on here ive seen people talk about police like im reading bcnd. Kind of disheartening been on the donald for a long time. Hope things work shape up.
