Laid off Thanksgiving Eve here... still looking but I refuse to be part of a worldwide medical experiment.

Unfortunately the industry I've been working up the ladder in for the last 6+ years is becoming too much like tech, very left.

I might end up joining a union and making twice the money I used to anyway.

The driver didn't mention it and I didn't order it, HR did, so IDGAF lol

Because it's the principle of the matter. I could understand why others might, though.

I thought I was gonna squeak through this shit but in the last month or two nearly every major client has made it a requirement that anyone from vendor companies must be vaccinated to enter their sites.

Large corps like Vangard and Takeda.

I'm hoping so! I have an interview Monday already.

This is why I want to move toward programming or even engineering, so this won't even be an issue.

I'd love to but the problem is I have no idea where to even start!

New Era Technology.

I don't know how that information would help anyone else, though, lol

Thanks. It was kind of a dick move, especially since the boss said we'd talk more about it on Monday. Then, SURPRISE! HR meeting.

Haha.

Yes and no, there aren't currently any of those positions open.

I didn't have much time to prepare, it happened pretty quick!

Court cases overturning what? I'm interested in fighting but I don't know what options i have in an at-will employment state.

In my area you don't need any sort of license to do AV. I'm hoping to not get back into installation as I was finally moving out of that after years of doing it. If it comes down to it, though, I'll do it.

I kinda wish I could get side-gig style thing going doing TV hangs and whatnot for residential clients but I don't even know where to begin something like that.

Actually, TN was on my short list of places to potentially move. The others were Alabama and Florida.

No, it's the principal. I am not getting it and I will not lie about it either. I can understand why others might, though.

I'll be fine for a while as I look for another job.

I'd love this, but I don't do that kind of work. I'd love to handle the AV solutions for his properties, though!

The thing is there was never really any asking WHY I wouldn't do it, just that if I didn't get it done then there was no work they could actually schedule me for thus no need for me.
