I've been having flashbacks of anti-communism lessons I received in grade school. Didn't remember exactly where it came from until recently. Now I remember in 5th grade my teacher "Mr. C." gave the class a comprehensive lesson on why communism is shit and how it's dangerous even if it sounds appealing.

He read Animal Farm out loud to the class, had us watch the animated version, showed us charts of a small wealth gap where everyone was poor vs a chart with a large wealth gap where the lower class was still much higher, explained the problems with centralized resource distribution, and walked us through thought experiments on what would happen if everyone got the same grade no matter how good their work was, etc... He then taught us about capitalism and some of the inherent flaws and how to avoid them by staying in school, avoiding having kids at a really young age, and getting a good job. etc...

Looking back it was incredibly based for a 5th grade class, and the lessons definitely stuck with me over the years. Growing up, He was one of the best teachers I had for other reasons. Really a great guy.

We badly need teachers like him nowadays. Hope he's doing good.

I was arguing with some idiot on reddit who was trying to tell me that free products and services are human rights, because people will LiTtERaLlY DiE without them, and therefore the government has to give them to you for free. Eventually this idiot's argument was "Ohh yeah, The right to privacy isn't in the constitution either, But it's still a real constitutional right".

This is why electing people and appointing judges who believe in a strict interpretation of the constitution is so important. It either says what it says, and it means what the original authors meant, or it means nothing.

You let idiots start reading between the lines and decide it means whatever they want, and next thing you know they are saying it guarantees them a free house, a free car, free utilities, free healthcare, and free money.

A while back someone posted a video that got stickied of poll workers allegedly talking about fraud on a surveillance camera.

In all honesty I couldn't hear anything they were saying and there was WAY too much background noise. Other people were claiming to hear different things. Anyways, Right now I'm playing around with a 30 day free trial of Topaz AI and I wanna try running that audio through their AI noise filtering app to see if it can be cleaned up.
