The proper action would be to utilize the 2018 EO regarding foreign interference in our elections, activate the Insurrection Act, and if need be, enact limited martial law. We have come to the point where half measures will not suffice. We are at war with foreign and domestic enemies who have infiltrated virtually ALL of our institutions. I'm not saying definitively that SCOTUS won't do the right thing in future cases, only that their past behavior doesn't instill a ton of confidence.
