The guy was stranded in the middle of nowhere with crew from many ships (the ships were broken from the voyage). How can a guy keep these desperate independently thinking sailors from growing restless around a bunch of strangers with strange customs? The story is very exciting and chilling just thinking about if I was put under even half the pressure. The guy was exploring the world before the world was even fully understood, how many people today would have the guts to sail thousands of miles of empty sea without knowing a thing about what is waiting for them? The indoctrinators like playing monday morning quarterback. Also a lot of the actual information and details have been scrubbed, remember that the actual information is too complex for the "be less white" narrative.
