Guess what happens if there's too many deer? More deer predators that are far less friendly, like coyotes, wolves, and bobcats.

Some animals are so annoying and useless that it's "open season" because they do nothing good for anyone.

Not familiar with the southeast, but hogs might be one of those species in that locale. Other areas, geese are open season. They do nothing but honk, shit, and spread disease. Until you roast 'em up.
