I’ve never understood the fascination of having a lot of cheap “stuff”. I think because my parents are borderline hoarders, when I went out on my own and started making a little, I began to choose quality over quantity for most things. My house is half assed furnished, I do buy expensive things I collect watches and have a few that are worth more than luxury vehicles but generally I wear cheap running shoes that I have to replace once a year because they get holes in the big toe area and the soles get worn out, my friends always make fun of me over that. Meanwhile my mom can’t pass by a sale rack without buying something because “it’s on sale” even though they really don’t need it.
That’s a really bad combination, and I know too many people who fit this description.

Exactly, now how do I convince all the NPC’s of this fact? I go out and talk to a lot of people often, but seeing random folks wearing a mask while walking alone down the sidewalk is simply discouraging. It’s an uphill battle. To me, this is all absolutely disgusting, and I have to be more involved in 2022 and 2024 whatever way we can to try and save the country, but people who don’t follow this stuff, how do we convince them they’re consuming cancerous lies and deceit?

True, they were sold to a Chinese company in 2013, I served Smithfield ham at my shop from 2011-2013 before finally switching to full Boar’s Head. Ended up selling the place in late 2015.
Boar’s Head is great, but they’re like a deli meat mafia, I’ve owned a BH deli, and you get virtually no support unless you’re 100% Boar’s Head (signage, POP materials etc) but it’s worth it because now everybody recognizes it. A few big grocer chains used to carry both BH and Dietz & Watson which is about the same quality, slightly cheaper, but BH marketing was so good they strong armed them to remove D&W and be BH exclusive. Price per pound is so high, I remember having everything but ham, because there’s a smoked Smithfield ham that I think is better than the Deluxe ham at 1/3 the price, but I changed because I wanted the neon BH sign in the window.

yep, somebody came over to play poker a few weeks ago and called my house a mansion. I said, nope it’s 8000+ sq fr I think to qualify as a mansion so I’m not even close. Turns out by the LA definition, it could very well be lol. At least I’m in a safer area that’s much more beautiful with well maintained yards, azaleas and other plants blooming right now. I don’t worry too much about getting robbed or shot and no HOA, at a third the cost.
