Seems like he has a strong resolve and I hope he does. I would hate to see another Drew Brees type backtrack with Tuitt clarifying that he will actually be kneeling now because his teammates explained to him that taking a knee when the flag is unfurled and the National Anthem is sung and US jets are flying overhead really doesn’t have anything to do with the flag.
Bubba Wallace is now saying he fears for his safety during infield visits when fans return . In effect, he is attaching violence to the very race fans who support NASCAR and make it possible for him to earn a prosperous living. No mention of those burning American cities, looting, setting fire to police cars, and causing chaos by any means possible. No, it’s the patriotic Americans who want to enjoy a weekend at the race track that are the subject of his concern. With Wallace’s slap at fans and NASCAR’s decision to implicitly condone kneeling for the National Anthem, I think that the exodus of fans in recent years will continue and probably accelerate.
