The reality is Republicans have been selling out the white working class to the non white and/or crony class for some time. Even Reagan was largely a sell out. Only Nixon was a true patriot / anti-commie.
It goes back to Eisenhower, at least, and his appointment of Chief Justice Earl Warren, a leftist radical who redefined the US Supreme Court for a generation.
Leftists in the courts gave leftists power in the legislature. And leftists in the legislature gave power to leftists in every aspect of our society (schools, media, entertainment, banking, law, medicine, etc.) This happened very slowly, but after enough time (from the 1950s to today) the effects were dramatic. We now live in a radical left wing country where the supposed “conservative” party is far left of where any western nation was just 70 years ago.
