Most-all white people in the history of this country lived like virtual slaves or peasants. The average wage in 1900 was $1 a day. Everyone was living in poverty until the 1920s and 1940s - and even then the prosperity was limited to a few types of Europeans, as you said. Eastern Europeans, Italians, the Irish, etc were all considered non-white and were mostly living in poverty.
The idea of white privilege is racist nonsense that tries to paint White people as evil simply for being relatively successful. There is no privilege based on skin color in the US. It’s always been different nationalities (e.g. Germans) looking out for each other, and that’s no different than what happens in any other nation.
