The PCR Is more accurate but still has a fail rate of almost 10%, simply because it is a newer test and FDA regulations have been relaxed for its deployment. Normal test accuracy for something like this to be deployed in less stupid times must be 99%+ accurate.

For rapid tests, it functions off of ELISA testing, which when in controlled environments can be really accurate.
However, the color change effect can be set off by... wait for it... acidic compounds.
Especially something as acidic as coca cola.
