Same. My best friend from college is named Karen and she was the first open conservative I've met. I was an on-the-fence-liberal at the time. Karen saw through the Clinton facade as clear as day while the rest of us sheep were going, "well...." I admire Karen for being so openingly conservative on a liberal campus. I bet she was glad I got red-pilled.
I swung between indifference and mild hatred because I brought into the tabloid image of him during the 90s, although I thought it was funny and sweet that he and his ex wife made a Pizza Hut commercial together.
My liberal friends loved The Apprentice and I reluctantly participated. It was when I start to consider that he knows what he is doing and then I was impressed how well put together Ivanka is when she appeared on the show. I thought it says a lot that Trumps adult children are intelligent and mature and not a hot mess we come to expect from the Kennedys.
Flash forward to 2015 and I’m living in a blue city in a blue state and even though I considered myself a conservative, I just couldn’t buy the idea of Trump as POTUS even though what he said was common sense stuff. I was pro-experienced politician even though Hillary Clinton has done, at best, jack shit for the country, I serious thought I was going to vote for Hillary until I voted for Trump at the booth and a sudden peace came over me. I was always going to vote for Trump but the relentless media negativity made me seriously doubt my own intention. My vote didn’t count anyways since my blue city turned my state blue, but it was still good to know my conscious won over the brain washing attempts by the media.
Since 2016 I am constantly amazed by how much Trump has accomplished and I pray to God to keep him safe from assassins and manipulators.
I'm also ABC (Amercian Born Chinese) and I'm guessing I'm older than you.
Stay. If you live in the city then make sure you ive in the higher-end area or the suburbs. If the riots (past and present) taught us anything is they can't attack those places because residences will protect their home and community. I live in a blue small city in a blue state and I never felt unsafe and there hasn't been any looting or demonstrations. Sure people say their blue but when it comes to their property, jobs, heath, or schools, they're un-ironically conservative but ofcourse they don't think they are.
I personally wouldn't mind moving to a more rural setting or even back to my home state that is nicely conservative, but my job is currently in a blue city in a blue state, so I find like-minded friends to get me through the every-4-year shit show.
I think the protesters are really opening a lot of people's eyes, but not in the way they think. When a family friend who is a Trump-hating liberal trans-man ranted to me, "These protests are ridiculous! The protesters need to be all arrested!" then I know the protesters lost a lot of people on their side.
Even in the SJW cesspool Tumblr the anti-Trumpers are blasting those with anti-police mentality and WTF -omg at the idea of de-funding the police. They pretty much said they’re going to vote for Trump if it means preventing blue democrats from destroying their own city.
I agree. I’m stuck in a blue state and a blue small city just 6 miles where some glass were broken in a bigger blue city and that’s it. No breaking down of society and people are having picnics, walking their dogs, and basically just enjoying good weather.
Z generationn were survey to be the most conservative generation since The Greatest Generation. Of course that's all relative and not straight forward, but by and large they try not to be sucked in by MSM propaganda. Even my teenage neice and nephews claim to be liberals but they refuse to swallow MSM hook, line, and sinker and often do their own research and call BS on alot of feminism and SJW crap. So I have hope that even the youths who identify themselves as liberals are red pilling themselves.
Why was the memorial service in Brooklyn? Is that where most of Floyd's relatves are, including his brother? I read a quora article on how well Minneapolis is recovering from the riot/looters by locals cleaning up, directing traffiic, socializing with the National guards, setting up pop-up food banks, and organizing local patrols to protect the few grocery stores servicing low income community. In the same article it mentioned 2 NYC "jackalopes" passing out flyers to "join their recvolution" only to be told (yelled actually) to go back to NYC. so it got me wondering if Floyd's memoral service is part of DeBlasio's Democratic Presidential campaign.
Why is he even there? Isn't he NYC's major? I remember reading a quora article on how well Minneapolis is recovering from the riot/looters by locals cleaning up, directing traffiic, socializing with the National guards, setting up pop-up food banks, and organizing local patrols to protect the few grocery stores servicing low income community. In the same article it mentioned 2 NYC "jackalopes" passing out flyers to "join their recvolution" only to be told (yelled actually) to go back to NYC. So maybe Floyd's memoral service is part of DeBlasio's Democratic Presidential campagin?
I don’t care. They’re always like this. We could be literal Paradise on earth and they’ll still criticize us because we have what they don’t have. As others said, they have no room to talk because they have their own serious problems with their own people.
It's the same in Alexandria, I just waltzed right in and voted, the quickest I've ever noted. In years past the voting lines were always short, but there is no line this morning at 8 am. I'm guessing the leftist voted by mail, maybe.
