Aye Christianity is partly to blame, but the same can be said about every single religion on earth. In the case of Christianity; it's mostly because the preachers failed to teach the word.
Christianity still holds the solution because divine law is still revealed there through the revelations of Yahshua (Jesus Christ.) in the book of Mathew. Proverbs 6 and 7 explains why the law or the ten commandments serves as divine protection from wicked forces.
The problem is that over the years. God's law was barely ever taught in churches, thus morality was no longer being taught, instead they taught salvation after death. Alot of churches stopped teaching the law and this gave rise to lawlessness. So in people's minds, they think they can lie and get away with it and be forgiven after. (And this is the problem, because it gave rise to satanists like aleister crowley to write their own satanic law called "Thelema" or "Do as thou wilt".)
But Yahshua was very clear in his message:

I would seriously consider the atonement route. It is the path less traveled by, and very few find it.
The truth about God's Law:
Yea tolerance is part of it; but it is also lawlessness that got us here. Our immoral choices, how we hurt one another. Lie, cheat, steal, murder etc etc. Even this is mentioned in the holy bible in the book of revelations, the part about lawlessness.
The state of atonement is very important. We all have the ability to communicate with the being men call God. Atonement is turning away from lawlessness.
You dont need a religion, to have communication with the Most High.
People are trying to look at man for the solution and that's also the problem. What about God's way? Ten commandments, Golden rule, seven virtues?
Or we can just lean on our ego's understanding and get lost.
