Say they raise it to 15 an hour, I will just cut your hours by 50%. You're now making 7.50 an hour again.
With the way of the world (computers/etc) there is no reason we can not be paid the same day as we worked. This would, by far, increase daily living over a raise of a base rate that can be easily manipulated.
