You may be correct about his not being arrested now. From new information I have just heard, it appears that he was "taken down" ... one way or another ... last year. So it is likely that those that control the media of the Vatican have been using either a hologram or CGI, more likely the former. In either case, he is no longer at the Vatican and is of course no longer "the pope."
