Buy a big bag of beans and a big bag of rice. If you ever get towards the end of the bags you can start planting them. They won't all grow, some will and the seeds from those can be eaten or replanted. Load up on herbs and spices as these are the superfoods that supply everything else (beans and rice are a complete protein). I recommend blackbeans (taste nicer) and long grain whole rice (more filling). Also you might want to print out how to grow them.
