correct me if im wrong, but the reason leftists are going out of control is that they have no moral foundation. their house is built upon sand, in other words. theyre able to look normal (sort of) when things are going their way, but when something comes along that upsets them (like Trump), they completely lose it and collapse, spinning out of control with the wave that hit them. its the history of judeo christian spirituality (call the old jews pre-christians if you want): The house built upon a rock stands (and doesn’t paint their hair purple and expose themselves in public I might add)

conservatives (or moderates - im starting to think the “spectrum” is really a circle. conservative ppl stay in the circle, within what we know works.. and the crazy “leftists” are all out in orbit with their ideas).

wow, she’s beautiful. Not just saying that. She was a beautiful dog. i’m sorry for your loss too. my border collie passed away about five years ago now, my parents were keeping her for me when it happened, but she had a full life.

ps all dogs go to heaven, and all dogs vote for Trump

im a lyft driver. if 22 doesnt pass, uber/lyft may leave california. they almost did in september bc our attorney general obtained a court order to force uber/lyft to make us all employees.

heres what wouldve happened if lyft/uber had to make us employees

  1. give us all a fixed schedule instad of letting us make our own hours (i might as well get a regular job at that point)

2), they wouldve had to fire all the part time workers who do 5-10 hours a week, because they cant afford to officially “hire” the 10’s and maybe 100’s of thousands of part time workers who do this in their spare time.

  1. they wouldve needed to hire middlemen, managers, and more infrastructure that would vastly increase uber/lyfts overhead.

4, all the drivers would have to fill out w-2’s and we would be taxed. as of now, i TAKE HOME all of my pay. i owed zero taxes last year on a quarterly or year end basis bc of the mileage deduction in california. i get to deduct $.58 per mile from my taxes. i actually RECEIVED a large tax break and got money BACK without sending anything in.

5), they wouldnt pay us by the job anymore, but would pay us hourly (if we were made employees). there would be a reduction in wages. i currently make around 1000 for 40 hours of work. last week i made 1700.

6), the oversight costs and OVERREGULATION that AB5 would bring to lyft and uber wld make it unprofiteable to operate in ca, and uber/lyft may leave the state, stranding a LARGE percentage of workers (10-20%?) who rely on uber/and lyft to get to work, creating an economic DISASTER in ca., and an epidemic of homeslessness worse than we already have.

7), prop 22 prevents all this from happening. sure, it benefits lyft/uber, but it also benefits all the drivers and riders. the state wants to be able to TAX drivers and right now they really cant. GTFO with siding with the state who wants to overregulate us and tax us, and ultimately drive two major employers out of the state.

conclusion: sure, prop 22 only protects uber/lyft from ab5 and not other companies, but AT LEAST its protecting two companies instead of none. AB5 shld be repealed, but thats not on the table right now. the damage needs to be limited till it IS repealed. prop 22 stands in the way of the destruction of app-based driving services and the organic economy surrounding it. CA LOVES to crash sections of the economy, and not passing 22 would do that again.
