I’m a Lyft driver, I just picked up a military member at a quiet hotel in Sacramento California. I’m used to the hooker hotels but this was the hotel that seemed to be completely full of military members. He said they were Air Force, Army, and national guard. I asked them what they were there for, and he said originally they were on a mission regarding the wildfires, but that mission was ending and now they were on standby for “after the election.” Trump isn’t messing around guys!! if this is the case in Sacramento, you can bet it’s true another major US cities.
it was a date. it was a bad idea. but something good came out of it. im a lyft driver and she came along for my last rides of the evening. she ended up talking to most of my passengers
in one convo she went on some weird liberal rant about Trump owning uber, so she didnt like uber. I was like, “what are you talking about?” i mentioned at that point to her and my passenger that im pro-trump, just to diffuse the conversation.
after dropping the passenger off, i responded to an anti - gun sentiment she’d made: “did you know hitler disarmed all the jews so he cld arrest them without them fighting back? citizens need to be armed.”
she responded: “yeah, i actually agree with that. and to tell the truth, im voting trump even though i dont like him. Biden is utterly ridiculous.”
then she said, “and obama is the one who put kids in cages,” which shocked me.
we talked some more, and i told her that Trump isnt against legal immigration, and she understood that.
by the end of the night she was asking me questions, like “whered you get your MAGA hat?”, and laughing at the fact that I have Trumps inauguration day circled on my calendar.”
moral of the story: some people even ACT like liberals and will make fun of the President, BUT THEY ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR HIM ANYWAYS.
she still looks like a liberal, though, so no second date. lol. ive felt a bit “hard up” this year with all the shutdowns. the ONLY reason we went out at all.
she said she didn’t vote for Trump just because “he seemed grumpy“ during the first debate. The crazy thing is that she knows socialism is bad and knows how this country would go into the trash heap if Biden became president. she’s fully aware. She just voted her emotions because she was a little angry at Trump for “being grumpy.“ I told her to check to see if her vote actually gets counted because it was a mail in, and if not go in person and vote for Trump on election day. #insanity #voterregret is real. some ppl shldbt be trusted with a ballot. change my mind

long story short. was raised as s republican but didnt understand conservatism. thats why I became a somewhat vitriolic lib (and I didnt understand that I cld be a naturalist AND a conservative). ultimately, it was dating liberal women that brought me back to sanity, and talking with friends, and finally seeing barry not give a flying eff about me because im a white male. his 2014 sotu did it for me. i was like, i cant support this joke anymore. i was living in a christian mens home at the time, and it felt so good to wake up the next morning and talk with the other guys, admitting they were right. i finally was able to admit what i KNEW all along to be true: abortion is hideous, and of the two main parties, R was/is the only valid choice. feels good to come home and stop trying to twist everything to fit a narrative. how exhausting that all was. i think my voice was deeper the next day ;)

What little things can we do more of? I volunteered to work at a polling place. Took my name off the "mail me my ballot" list, and will be secretly passing out a few things. It's not much. But the Lord can multiply our efforts!
Unbelievable. Someone came to my door today offering me a nice phone, either an iPhone or some kind of android, if I simply signed up for food stamps and Medi-Cal. I said no way. The state is actively trying to get people on the government dole. and one of the phone companies is in on it.
this coming on the heels of California lessening penalties on adults who engage in sexual interaction with minors today.

The California AG, probably at the instruction of Newsome, Obtained a court order that requires Uber and Lyft to either shut down completely or immediately turn all of us rideshare drivers into employees. Those of us who know economics know how unfeasible it is to turn us all into employees. Wld have to schedule our shifts, get paid hourly, and the rideshare platforms would have to fire up to 80% of the workforce that work part time.
to their credit, uber and lyft haven’t caved to the state of California. theyre going to let the shut down happen unless their appeal on the basis of economic hardship is granted.
if Uber and lift shut down suddenly about 20% of the workforce in Sacramento alone probably won’t be able to get to work. benefits are running out. South sac alone could become a turf war like New York.
The way I see it, becerra and Newsom know That proposition 22, which will allow Uber and Lyft to forever remain gigs in California, it’s probably going to pass this fall. So they’re trying to force uber and lyfts hand before the election, and they’re risking millions of Californians lives in the process.
as a human being who has concern for his fellow humans, I don’t want Uber and lyft to shut down. but if they do California will certainly devolve into a level of chaos that will certainly cull the herd.
I can’t see anyone but republicans being willing to vote in such an atmosphere
socialists in power in ca want their cut of the uber/lyft cash cow so badly theyre literally willing to risk millions of lives
