Im skeptical as anyone about the Covid hype and all that. And I’m not taking the vaccine. And I think the numbers are way overstated and there’s a lot of BS about it. All I was saying is that in my 16 years of providing anesthesia, I have never seen this many patients on the ventilator for ‘the flu’.. and the % of patient ever getting off the vent is about 20% so yeah it’s basically a death sentence on its own. Without assholes saying that health care providers are killing them purposefully.
Maybe the high instances are local to the 2 hospitals I work at. But who knows.
Honestly, I’m skeptical about everything related to Covid. And I think it’s going to be a couple years before we really know much about it. Right now it’s mostly speculation and opinion.
Not as bad as flu season.
And it seems that people with undiagnosed diseases get it the worst. Especially pulmonary hypertension.
Edit: And obesity.. morbidly obese people seem to get very sick.
Granted this, I work in Appalachia and a lot of our population don’t go to the doctor until they are pretty ill.

One of the hospitals I work at has 14 ICU beds. 9 of them are Covid+ patients on ventilators. Another 3 are sick but not ventilated. I placed 4 of those breathing tubes. These people are sick and feel like they are drowning with every breath. Not everyone who gets it is that bad of course.. but those who do get “sick” get really effin sick. I would post pics, but that’s highly illegal.

And I would put dollars that hungry soldiers would love to have any of those provisions. I have never been in combat, but my friends that have ate whatever they could get their hands on. MRE’s being the main source of nutrition. And they were stoked to get a can of Pringle’s chips, a bag of Combos, or a pack of interracial butt sex Oreos in care packages from home.
