It's not just a belief, it is a religion by your own standards. There are logical outgrowths of holding such a belief, which is exactly what a religion is. A belief that will serve a guiding principle for other things and actions in your life. My entire point is that you are hypocritically accusing the Q supporters of the thing you literally do yourself. Believing in something that you cannot prove or disprove 100%. Yes I agree its a belief, but please explain why your beliefs are better or more valid than the people you are attacking.

You could have avoided my criticisms by saying the same thing, my main point is by putting atheism as your main credentials for criticizing Q, you opened yourself up to criticism as it relates to your atheism. The point is you are being intellectually dishonest whether you know it or not. You are attacking one set of beliefs, and basing it on your own beliefs which you are implicitly admitting may or may not be correct, you don't have proof. Don't attack Q supporters, who frankly have a lot of valid arguments and info, whether you want to admit that or not if you are unwilling to back your beliefs with facts and data points. You might be correct, but you made a bold claim and you shouldn't be surprised that someone is pushing back hard. In the future, I'd recommend leaving out the whole atheist thing, its irrelevant to the point you're trying to make, but you made it central to your argument. If you would have just said, "I believe Q is a religion, and the people who are following it have been played." I wouldn't have commented. It's a philosophical view that makes the claim there is no God. You have to back that claim up with something, doesn't have to be scientific fact. It could be a logical, philosophical, or moral argument, but even that is troublesome for the atheist position. You made a claim that (A) because of my atheist beliefs, (B) I can see Q is a religion. I am asking you to back up portion (A). What is it about the atheistic beliefs that allow you to see Q is a religion? you cant even back up your own beliefs, you just believe it whether there is a reasonable position contrary to your view or not. that's exactly what you claim Q followers are doing.

what evidence do you have there is no God? Dare I say your belief is based on faith in your own reasoning? Or are you going to say science has proved there is no God? By your own standard isn't science just a religion as well? Science has gotten many things wrong, that doesn't mean it doesn't have its purpose. You act like you have a solid intellectual basis for your beliefs (or lack thereof when it comes to God), but those beliefs must be based on some sort of human-designed system of reason, understanding, or logic, all of which have led to predictions that are false.

This is really well thought out and I think its a very fair assessment even if I dont really agree. Honest question though, even if you are completely right, do you think people like you and me are just going to fall back in line? The whole spy-gate fiasco has brought so much attention to systemic corruption we now have legitimate evidence to back up what was labeled "conspiracy theory" heading into 2016. Culture change takes a long time, and I dont think we can discount the ripple effect even small victories today will have in the future
