Unlikely. The reason trump is down in some states compared to 2016 is a loss in margin among old white men (and white men in general). He was buoyed from a steep marginal loss by increasing his margins greatly among minorities.
There is no evidence to prove that he said anything about the troops. John Bolton, who hates Trump, who was purportedly there while Trump made these remarks, put it quite eloquently while denying the allegations. He said, if trump had said those things, why wouldn't I have written about them in the book that is making me shit tons of money?
