There's a big difference between a riot, and city council saying they want to effectively eliminate the police department.
This is something nobody has been stupid enough to suggest even in jest.
I have no idea how things are legislated and policy passed at the city level but this is just too suicidal of a move for even the most stupid of policy makers to carry out.

That's exactly why mass media has to saturate the airwaves with nothing but images, stories, and emotional reaction testimony. Any shift to a stat or fact based discussion would shatter the narrative.
One thing about the markets is that they are unapologetically driven by greed. The pension funds and other muni bond investors can see that there will be no tax base in cities that are suicidal enough to defund their police because there will not be any businesses or tax paying citizens stupid enough to stick around for long.
There are lease breaks, contracts, corporate brand management issues. For instance, the board of Target has to know that all of their stores will be money losers but due to their cucked nature they will make up some reason for hanging on and some verbiage about diversity etc. Then they will just have too many quarters of failure and have to pull out.
Every business in town has to be looking to be making exit plans. No business hit by the riots will want to rebuild. Any tax contributing citizen will look to move ASAP. With the drop in revenues, social services and infrastructure will go unfunded.
This will all happen within 24 months . This is suicide.
It's amazing to watch this collective suicide. No businesses will rebuild. In fact, any sensible business will withdraw from the city almost immediately. Property values will tank and the property owners will be suing the hell out of the city which will have a declining tax base. Municipal workers will not get paid. Critical city infrastructure will not get funded.
Their municipal bonds will drop to junk status. No pension obligations will be met. They will have a depopulation of double digit percentages.
All of this will happen within 24 months with this decision.

That is why there is the rise in alt tech and alternative commentators. This place is proof and it's just the beginning. Technology comes and goes because it is constantly evolving. Think of social media, youtube, search engines, in the early 2000's. That is where we are with alt tech today. Lots of very smart people are breaking off and doing their own thing.
