The guy he put in charge of hiring evidently hated him. This is how he got even his own people working against him.

Their arguments are laughable when looking at the facts. The Mens Team & the Women's Team are two different organizations. They share a name but their budget isn't pooled & their slice of the pie comes from their seperate fans/consumers.
A simple example is that if the Womens team sells $1 million in merch/tickets they can't pay the players $2 million. They get a portion of what their organization brings in.
My favorite fact is that the women's choice of contract supports statistics about women & the types of jobs they choose vs men. This choice on average is a job with more stable pay less uncertain. So more base pay but less bonus based on performance. This is the exact contract they signed but when they performed well they wanted to change it. Of course the judge slapped that down since they turned down the contract that would have ultimately paid them more.
