People are trying to exonerate Bubba Wallace by saying he didn’t know the “noose” was a garage door pull. I think we are owed some clarifying statements from Wallace and NASCAR. Either situation is hilariously embarrassing:

  1. NASCAR tells a black employee they found a noose. No qualifiers or doubt added. Decline to show him a photo. Parade him out for a “solidarity march” and push him to do a TV interview as a publicity stunt knowing that this is 99.9999% definitely a garage door rope.

  2. Wallace sees a photo of the garage door pull and hears a story about where it was found (on the GARAGE DOOR). He sees gold, demands an investigation, and tells bald-faced lies to the entire NASCAR community and to a national tv audience.

I’m leaning towards (2) but LOL @ either option. More details please, NASCAR.

I would argue that the last 2 weeks of riots and mayhem have brought us nothing new except high levels of energy and passion from protesters, and that passion will soon be gone.

All of this has been going on before BLM 2020, and will continue after it's long forgotten: performative virtue signaling, corporate anti-racism statements, cancel culture, "America is racist to its core," the NYT being bullied by woke staffers: all of this stuff is sadly par for the course in modern America. Even race riots are not anything new. We have them every few years.

What is notable and different? High levels of passion and violence which have captivated and shocked everyone. I would argue these are simply due to near-term events and are not sustainable. These two major causes which will be fading within the coming weeks:

  1. BLM/civil unrest was a politically-correct pressure release valve for the COVID lockdowns. Everyone boxed themselves into a corner by pledging allegiance to Lord Fauci, Supreme Ruler of Science. There was no lockdown exit plan and everyone was beyond sick of our never-ending lockdown purgatory. They could never admit that Trump was right and it was time to reopen America. Look at Europe who is coincidentally burning their cities "for American police reform." Give me a break. Either way, we blew our load. The National Guard came and kicked everyone out. Party's over. We're already regressing back to the same old "America is racist" boilerplate that we always see. Besides that, restaurants, bars, and beaches are now starting to open country-wide. Lockdown is over.

  2. Communist anarchist Berniebros have no horse in the race and decided it was time to join white ISIS. Bernie Sanders was crushed by the Dems again, and will never ever be present. The dream is dead. Don't forget: Bernie went hard after the woke crowd this time. The woke crowd is now totally abandoned in the presidential race. Joe Biden is NOT an acceptable alternative to them. Also don't forget: Berniebros threatened "Milwaukee will burn" if Bernie doesn't get the nomination. They were twice promised a revolution and never got it. I predict the media and general public quickly tires of this sad group of losers which have nothing to offer for valuable political centrists and undecideds. It will also be increasingly difficult to explain why this largely white group of communists has anything to do with Black Lives Matter.

Aside from these immediate points, the movement is already flailing and unable to get traction with the public:

"Defund the police" is a political loser. Congress, Joe Biden, and cuck boy Jacob Frey won't even get behind it. It originated during the post-riot euphoria and was hastily painted into the streets of DC. 100% emotion 0% strategy. Walking it back and scrambling for a new slogan will let the wind out of their sails.

"Silence = consent" is a sign of weakness. A political movement is supposed to grab attention, and use that attention to persuade neutral people. If you had a movement worth following, you wouldn't need to threaten neutral people. Neutral people who are threatened to follow aren't going to be good allys anyway. They don't really care about your cause; they are just joining because of threats. They will be gone as soon as the wind shifts. This is anecdotal but I don't even think the threats are working. Aside from corporate virtue statements and the already woke, I personally am seeing a lot of silence in my social media news feeds. Of the people who posted "black out" profile pics, none were a surprise because they post something about every leftist fad.

The sad legacy of BLM 2020 will have minimal impact on the cultural wars, but unfortunately, it will be mostly absorbed by law enforcement:

  • Reduced talent pool of good, effective police. We have once again trashed the profession of law enforcement instead of trying to improve it. Just like any profession, good capable people with options will leave, retire, or check out.
  • Continuation of Furgeson effect: reduced enforcement, reduced budgets, reduced scope of police efforts. This hurts victims of crimes the most.
  • Destroyed poor urban neighboroods and small businesses, many of which will never recover.
