1). mRNA vaccines aren’t rushed vaccines. They can be coded in days — that’s a feature not a drawback. They can be created so fast because they don’t have to go through the years-long process old vaccines had to. That’s one of the reasons many people including Moderna’s CEO said there will never be a pandemic again.
2). That’s not how Covid works. That’s good for you that you haven’t known anyone who had a serious reaction to Covid. I’ve worked with pts with it over 300 times now, I’ve seen it kill people in their 40’s. My own father is under 65, no comorbidities, walked 2+ miles a day and bikes several days a week on top of that and was in the ICU with an O2 sat of 81% within 5 days of symptoms. 10 weeks later he is just beginning to be able to walk more than 200 ft at a time without becoming winded. But at least he didn’t get the permanent loss of taste and smell, like the LPN I work with in my skilled nursing who still has no taste 11 months later.
