They did the same thing with the Iraq/Afghanistan “causality counter” when Obama was running for office the first time, following Bush.

You need to find a signed copy. Otherwise, it is just a proposed order.

This is correct. Should have sued everybody to begin with. Though if the local officials are working in conjunction with the people sued, the injunction should issue. Then the local officials should file to dissolve, if they want.

Regardless, new suit for injustice relief should be filed tonight and the application for a temporary restraining order heard early tomorrow. (I am saying this is what they should do, no idea if that is what I going to happen).

People are criticizing Rudy because he is old and his presentation is not as smooth as it would have been 30 years ago. My take - so what. Dude is a legend. He didn’t forget how to make an argument. I hated the “hair color” incident because it was an easy distraction. His legal presentation then and today are outstanding.

I am celebrating Thanksgiving normally. Christmas will be great and so will Easter. I stopped caring about Fauci’s opinion a long time ago. He is a complete and utter disaster. The sooner people stop listening to him, the better. He is loving being the most important person in the world to a portion of the country. He will do nothing that risks losing that place in the spotlight.

I have been very disappointed in Abbott. Yes, better him than the Michigan governor or others. But, for Texas he has been a complete flake.

Give me De Santis. Then, if Biden is inaugurated, we just secede.

Come and take it.

Can’t even start to believe this. If true, it is nothing short is treason. This is an allegation that shouldn’t be made without the ability to back it up. It is “put up or shut up” time.

Easy to claim now, but that caught my ear as well. This is ridiculous. Can’t they find someone with sufficient professionalism to fairly moderate a debate? I don’t expect them to find “undecided” moderators. People who act as moderators will likely have strong opinions. But maybe include people in your prep that aren’t in the tank for Biden? Though, you know that these people (especially Wallace) see moderation the debate as a chance to “get Trump.”

Reminds me of the explosion that happened in West, Texas. Not sure if this is a fertilizer company, though

Like current day democratic socialists, Hitler didn’t believe that the means of production should be taken by the State (socialism) and then given to the proletariat while the State fades away (communism). Hitler believed that common people could not be trusted with much and that the means of production should largely be maintained privately by elites. However, the government pulled levers behind the scenes to dictate industry. Think of it like Obama funneling money to his buddies at Solyndra while he was trying to push green energy, while at the same time hammering traditional energy industries. Although he did not “socialize” the industry, he was not fostering a free, capitalist market.

Clinton, Obama, Soros and the bunch are accuse you be socialists. By definition, socialists use authoritarian practices until power vests in the people and there is no State. Clinton et al aren’t giving up power, ever, if they get it. By definition, they can’t be communists. That is why I think globalism is much similar to fascism than socialism.

There is no such things as a “right wing dictator.” The “right” includes free markets, liberty, and individualism. No room for a dictator.

To the extent you are buying into “fascism is a right wing ideology,” it isn’t. I would argue that “democratic socialism” is fascism with a new name. Specially, I am referring to Mousolini style fascism, rather than nazism. People refer to fascists as “right wing” based on them being nationalists, as if Soviet Russia, North Korea, and the Chinese are not nationalistic.

Or you may be making a different point. Been listening to a lot of Peterson and D’Souza recent.

End rant.

Houston pede here. Her election was the result of a combination of several things. Political split in Houston is pretty 50/50, so any election may be close. On top of that, Beto significantly boosted candidates across Texas with the aid of straight ticket voting. Dems won races in 2018 no one would have ever thought possible.

She beat Ed Emmett, who was very popular in Houston. He did a fantastic job leading the County after Harvey. City leadership (same people as today) was somewhere between absent and a total mess.

Going into the election, many thought Judge Emmett would be the only republican to win. The thinking was that his popularity would overcome Lina’s ability to ride Beto’s coattails and the advantages of straight ticket voting. After all, she was a 27-year old, inexperienced nobody. He was the person that lead Harris County for years through several crises.

His race was the closest race in the county, but he came up a little short. Every other republican lost big. His loss hurt the county immensely, especially now.

I believe that the 2018 election was the last election with straight ticket voting available. It has been eliminated in Texas.
