This^ And yes, it is another easy handle to grab when we make a grammatical error. These types of errors--they're (their, there) so easy to do, we need to be careful, but try not to crucify the good intentions of the creator. Let's help proofread when we can.
If it makes you feel any better, I listened to a public hearing from the Oregon Dept. of Education day before yesterday, and one of the higher-ups kept saying they needed to keep track of which students and families were "illegible." Over and over again (at least a dozen times) she kept calling to make sure to find those who were "illegible" for benefits and aid. Aside from the fact it was purely a presentation illustrating how to define, target, and capture low income families for forced government dependence, coming from the F-ING DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, I found everything she had to say made her ELIGIBLE for no job having the slightest connection to intelligence. Of course, the department of education hasn't had that connection for decades.
Who would have thought Myanmar, of all places, would illustrate our issues so completely and effectively? There are more of us than there are of them, when do we collectively say, "No" to every EO, law, tax, etc. that goes against our Constitution? Many of us will lose everything, but they're going to take it from us anyway.
Meanwhile, as I'm sitting here disheartened and disgusted, I looked over and noticed one of our moderators has this handle: Ivaginaryfriend. I almost messed myself laughing and enjoying that creativity :-D
Make many frens in the real world. Drink a beer, shoot some pool. Talk. Talk. Talk. And talk some more. Have discussions. Take a trip with your frens to the next town. Make many frens. Drink a beer, shoot some pool. Talk. Talk. Talk... rinse, repeat, etc.
HERE: share information and real news. Don't show your opponents what cards are in your hand, yeah?
Naw, I just think that admiring and respecting another culture and having the same culture forced down your throat are two different things. This last year I met a lot of based Mexicans. It doesn't mean I fawn over every one of them. I get the sentiments, which is why I wasn't trying to be rude. I think I'd rather have those opinions (most of which I took as being playful and humorous) posted publicly than kept hidden; I also think it gives the detractors plenty of fuel for their fires of misinformation. Not a big deal-- if they didn't use things like that they'd just make something up. It's par for the course. I'm not easy to offend, and I'm not here TO offend, either.
By a lot.
