Welcome to Nashville! Overall its a great place to live. It's just stretched thin currently dealing with such a large influx so quickly. I think it's similar to Atlanta or Dallas 20-30 years ago in terms of growth and planning. If they get ahead of it and start planning like Dallas, we'll be alright. If not, then we'll start to more closely resemble Atlanta.

It was neither a hospital nor a prison. It was a temporary shelter set up at the Fairgrounds. Now, I agree that it sounds bad that someone escaped a seemingly forced quarantine and was arrested for it, but there has been NO OTHER incident like this before or since MAY.

They had no where else to go to get treatment. While it sounds bad that it says "escaped" and "police chasing citizen with COVID" etc., it's much more likely this homeless person HAD COVID and also some mental condition they were trying to detain him for.
Otherwise, show your proof of tax paying citizens testing positive and being thrown into a COVID hospital in Nashville and forced to stay under penalty of law.
I concur with most of the descriptions by WU_HAN_FRU for the most part. Nashville is still a good place to come, but it is being inundated by coastals and increasingly has been for the last 2 years. Moved back here 6 years ago from DFW and while there were a bunch moving here, it REALLY jumped 2 years ago.
Franklin/Williamson down I-65 corridor is where most NE and Californians are moving to. It fits their "high-profile" living. LOTS of money and yes lots of RINOs.
I-24 corridor from Nashville/Antioch to Murfreesboro are the primary immigrant enclaves (self-segregated) where you would likely see "tenets of islam" being taught possibly. Lower cost of living down that direction, but I would never encourage someone to move there.
North of I-40 is great East or West. Lots of good folk up there, although you'll always find power-hungry mini-tyrants in every little town.
Nashville proper/Davidson Co is where you go to work. You don't live there. Unless you're a Millennial or GenZ that's single or partners with no kids.
Lives in Nashville and calls bullshit. Davidson County has given some of these places a run in trying to show how tyrannical midget mayor can be, but other than stifling businesses and schools, he's largely been ignored. That's mainly because the VAST majority of people live outside of Nashville proper and Davidson Co. And they ALL say FU Midget Mayor.
It's the same as Dallas. Larger majority live outside of Dallas Co. in the metroplex. So it lessens the impact of the city govt.
