I think he would be more successful in a second term having had the time to reflect on the successes and failures of his first term. He'll also hopefully be able to get some MAGA supporters elected into congress to back him up if he does have a second term.
But we need to fix our corrupt voting system first. Otherwise there's no point in even talking about 2022 or 2024.

Unfortunately our media now thinks its their job to advocate for politicians rather than exposing their faults and provided cover for Joe while attacking Trump. The public never got a fair vetting of Joe before voting on him. Of course, they also used covid to weaken the voting system through mail in voting.

Wasn't this also Trump's strategy when first dealing with North Korea? Prior to Trump, North Korea was always rewarded with foreign aid whenever they made a fake threat against us. Trump came in and responded to their fake threats with very real threats of our own. That's why the media was crying that we were going to get into a war with them, which probably helped Trump to get NK to the negotiation table.
It's interesting that they're doing this rather than going back to the Obama-era policy of appeasement. Unfortunately, I don't think we have anyone in the Potato's government that is capable of negotiating a peace deal with NK if we get them back to the table.
The reason why the government was limited to collecting tariffs for revenue was to keep the size of government in check. The government had an incentive to keep itself small to ensure that its tariffs had minor impact on the economy.
I don't know if it will be an physical takeover. I think China is happy to buy out our media, businesses, and politicians and exert its control over them. That allows them to take over without the appearance of taking over.
