The lefties try to make this mean the national guard somehow. Regulated can only mean by the government to them. What the second amendment literally means in layman terms:
A free state can only exist if the citizens are armed and able and willing to use these weapons against threats foreign and domestic.
Their argument is stupid because at the time the most advanced firearm you could own was a musket. The military on both sides was using muskets. It was an advanced military grade weapon. They knew this and they wanted civilians to have them because we are SUPPOSED to be on par with the military in the event we have to fight our own military.
