Yep, we're going to need a MASSIVE paradigm shift to pull this off - law and order are gone. Justice as we know it is a memory. 'Fair' flew out the window months ago, if not years ago.
Lots of people are saying, "This is war," when they don't fully understand what that really means.
And 0 children in need, and 0 veterans waiting for help or medication, and 0 families who are trying to decide between paying the electric bill and putting gas in the car to go to work. I don't like handouts, but if we're going to hand it out anyway, let's hand it to our own people.
And if you notice, sin always comes from actual needs, taken too far:
Gluttony. We need food, but we eat too much.
Adultery/fornication. We were designed to enjoy sex, but we take it to dangerous places.
Greed. We need money to live, but we let it take over and hurt others in the pursuit of it.
And so on and so forth.
I was you, years ago. I decided, based on the premise that the Bible has survived thousands of years and is still around regardless of how many have tried to destroy it, there must be something there. But what?
So I read it. Then I asked Him, studied, asked some more, argued with Him in my prayers about what I learned, then went and learned some more. He met me where I was and started answering my questions. Sometimes He spoke through others, sometimes it was like a lightning bolt of certainty when the answer came. It was crazy, but it was precious, too. His Spirit was right there with me, leading me to the answers and reassurances I needed.
I figured if God wasn't big enough to handle my questions and concerns, he wasn't big enough to be my god. He handled it just fine! Ask Him. Argue with Him (just be ready to listen to His answers). He respects that - He gave us brains to use and hearts to feel. Just be deeply honest and humble enough to consider that you might be wrong about some things.
Pro tip from an old preacher I once knew: Praying is when you talk to God. Meditation is when you shut up and listen. God is big, bigger than any of us can wrap our head around.
