There's nothing in that article that even remotely suggests Pence won't certify the vote.
The certification has already been sent to the Secretary of State. The only way their votes are going to be rescinded at this point is if lawsuits are filed.
The vice chair is a Democrat. He's not going to accept their affidavits. He's already said so.
Unfortunately, I don't think this means much. On Tuesday night, after the vote to certify, a 2nd motion was introduced which waved reconsideration, meaning the board wouldn't be able to revisit the matter. The motion to certify the results officially passed, certification papers were signed, and records were sent to the Secretary of State this morning. The vice chair of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers says the deal is already done, as the deadline to certify was yesterday.
Did you even read the article? "Vice President Mike Pence is planning a trip to the Middle East and Europe immediately AFTER he is set to oversee Congress". How does this prevent him from certifying the vote?
