You hit the nail on the head. I wish Trump's lawyers would have used some of what you said, like, for months we watched as politicians bailed out rioters and encouraged their actions, etc. This created a breeding ground for contempt and fueled a lot of anger. I think this would have been a good preview of how we came to Jan. 6th. Now I fully believe that those who busted stuff up in DC should be held accountable on their own for their own actions and not pin this whole charade on Trump.
Agree his opening was not impressive, but the people who breached the barriers and busted in etc. should be held to account as adult individuals capable of making decisions on their own.
