As in previous years, the 2019 Defcon Voting Village presented a range of currently marketed touch-screen, direct recording electronic (DRE) , optical scan paper voting devices, paper ballot marking devices (BMDs) and electronic pol books (e-poll books) . While the Village did not attempt to (and could not ) provide samples of every piece of voting equipment currently in use throughout the United States, every piece of equipment at the Village is currently certified for use in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. If we as a nation are serious, as we must be, about improving election security in the United States, particularly ahead of the 2020 presidenial election, the Voting Village recommends that the following as urgent priorities”
1] Nationwide deployment of mandatory post-election risk-limiting audits
2] Nationwide deployment of voter-marked paper ballot systems
3] Dramatically increased funding and other resources to help local election officials protect their IT infrastructure from foreign state actors and other threats.
Without taking these steps to support election administrators at the front lines of this clear national security threat, we fear that the 2020 presidential elections will realize the worst fears only hinted at during the 2016 elections: insecure, attacked, and ultimately distrusted.

On Nov.3rd I voted on one of those new ES&S ExpressVote XL voting machines. It was different than what I was used to because in the past I had always made my selections and pressed the big VOTE button.
But this year the process was different. After selecting my candidates I was presented with the option PRINT BALLOT. I asked the poll worked what that meant. He said it will create a paper ballot for my review. Okay, I select and a paper ballot scrolls down in a glass enclosed case. I try to review but, with the curtains, it’s too dark and the printing is too small. So I just select the VOTE button.
I’ve regretted that move ever since. Was the darkness and small print by design? Was I too respectful of people in line that I hurried my voting process?

This is my first post in an effort to expose the vulnerabilities that allow cheating via Voting Machines currently in use in our elections. In 2006 three individuals from Princeton University wrote a malicious program that changed the voting algorithms on a Diebold AccuVote-TS Voting Machine in a lab environment.
Diebold was purchased by Dominion Voting Systems in 2010. While this paper is dated some 15 years ago the operating systems used in 2006 voting machines is a predecessor (and therefore similar) to operating systems used in modern voting machines.

Several of the demonstration attacks that we have implemented involve installing code onto AccuVote-TS machines that changes votes so that, for a given race, a favored candidate receives a specified percentage of the votes cast on each affected machine. Since any attacks that significantly alter the total number of votes cast can be detected by election officials, our demonstration software steals votes at random from other candidates in the same race and giving them to the favored candidate. The software switches enough votes to ensure that the favored candidate receives at least the desired percentage of the votes cast on each compromised voting machine.
It should be noted that Algorithms not only need to change enough votes so that a favored candidate wins but also generates enough votes to the favored candidate so that they (votes) would be greater than the range that would initiate a mandatory recount.

Arturo D’Elia, whose statement is at the heart of ItalyGate, was arrested on Dec. 5th 2020 for placing malware (Fujinama) into 96 computers located in, and around, Leonardo S.p.A Pomigliano plant.
"An interesting part of Fujinama is the ability to execute custom commands and custom exfiltrations as instructed by the C2. Every 5 minutes a configuration file stored on the C2 for each infected endpoint, is polled."
Translation: Every five minutes infected machines will poll a command server (C2) for instructions to execute. The actual voting machines themselves might be harmless enough and air gapped but the tabulator computers counting and reporting the votes might be the at-risk targets.

I grew up in a household where Joseph McCarthy was considered an American hero. Both my father and uncle believed that Communism was a cancer on the world and should be eliminated by any means necessary. And for good reason as both had fought with the Marines against the Chinese in North Korea in 1950.
Over time the Left has painted a picture of McCarthy as a villain going so far as making movies that propagandized what Hollywood perceives to be his evil deeds.
Yet here we are, roughly 66 years later staring down the barrel of a socialist/communist coup that threatens the very fabric of our Republic.
Senator Joseph McCarthy once stated that *"co-existence with Communists is neither possible nor honorable nor desirable. Our long-term objective must be the eradication of Communism from the face of the earth." * Truer words were never spoken.
