I don't know, maybe because most people USE those platforms? It's really easy to say "just upload your videos somewhere else"; but "somewhere else" does not have hundreds of millions of users. It's really difficult to reach people outside of the biggest social media platforms. The alternatives are simply not enough, and only those already convinced will move there.
