I don't recall any threats to censor speech during or after the Arab Spring. Quite the opposite was happening. They were cutting off cell phone service altogether to restrict access to communication and social media - but nobody was calling for banning twitter accounts back then.
It's not about WHAT people are doing - it's about WHO is doing it.
I never owned Facebook stock, but I'll be dumping my Apple and Amazon stock this week. This is NOT a retaliation for them banning parlor... but anticipation of their services suffering as others realize that they should not run mission-critical services on a vendor that can cut them off with a few HOURS of notice.
The teacher's union always told me to vote for democrats... but I tried to remain independent and selected the best candidate regardless of union endorsements. In 2016, I wanted ANYONE BUT HILLARY. I held my nose and voted for Trump with no great expectations. I remember waking up the next day and thinking "what have we done?"
Shortly after the inauguration, I attended one of President Trump's Thank You Tour rallies and that solidified me as a Trump supporter forever. I remember looking around at the people in the arena and thinking how "normal" they were and feeling that I belonged.
Since that time, I have donated to the party (a first for me), taken my family to lunch at Trump Tower NYC, and TRIED to attend another rally (got 10 feet from the entrance when they shut the doors).
Given the location and timing of the event, I would expect that there is a massive amount of video evidence about who participated and when/how they did it. Whether or not this video will ever see the light of day is another question.
