I agree with your take. I tried to do AA when I was getting sober, but I didnt like the idea that I could never drink again. I just wanted to be a normal person again, and normal people can drink responsibly.
In my experience, the first month sober was easier than months 2-6. Your first month sober you're feeling proud of yourself, happy, etc. But eventually that will wear off, you gotta be ready for it. My advice is to throw yourself into a hobby that is an escape. I started working out, and I highly recommend it. Its good for your body and mind. The mental benefits will help buffer you out when you feel low.
Good luck bro, I'm rooting for you.
Yes, it does.
Or that I’m rallying around the same ideals as great men had before me?
See, you understand what I'm saying. You're not venerating the men behind the ideals, you're venerating the ideals themselves. So what I think what you actually mean to say is:
The constitution is our party. The constitution is our brand. The constitution is everything to this movement.
Which is fine to me. Some ideals are worth venerating. So the original point that I was implying is that now we should be rallying behind MAGA, not President Trump.
Yeah, me too, man. I just think that he's going to be silent and lay low for a while. If we pin everything on Trump, were not going to have much while the dude enjoys a well-deserved vacation at mar-a-lago.
I'll be happy if I'm wrong, but that's the way I see it right now.
