I think what we saw under Trump was that just showing some intention to enforce the law was sufficient deterrent. This isn’t a crisis at all in that it has been willfully induced.

The left is advancing through soft power projection. A hard power response, justified or not, is likely to backfire politically. ~500 are currently being rounded up for Jan 6. The idea that the end goal is some dystopian future isn’t the case. The left wants the US to be California or Europe. Britain has speech police and a cowed Public. Run Planned Eugenihood out, allow prayer on the public square, institute a USA first curriculum in public schools, if the federal gov won’t enforce immigration then set up holding facilities in whichever wealthy liberal enclave exists by eminent domain, mandate voter ID, challenge the NFA/ATFs authority.
The states are singularly the most disenfranchised by the current Federal leviathan. They also have the necessary staff of lawyers. It’s where the latent power exists and politically where the right retains domain.
