I would like to see a state take a stand. Draw the line against the federal government. Conservative values, the constitution are nullified when you cannot live by it.

Run Planned Eugenihood out, allow prayer on the public square, institute a USA first curriculum in public schools, if the federal gov won’t enforce immigration then set up holding facilities in whichever wealthy liberal enclave exists by eminent domain, mandate voter ID, challenge the NFA/ATFs authority.

The states are singularly the most disenfranchised by the current Federal leviathan. They also have the necessary staff of lawyers. It’s where the latent power exists and politically where the right retains domain.

I’m not sure the effect of protests; seems more to be theatre for the benefit of media amplification which won’t be accorded the right. Aside from the prospect of it outright being subverted. After Jan 6 it was no longer possible to put forward arguments about the election.

Lawfare would be useful, an excellent example being the suits brought by the Scientologists against the IRS. It’s also what’s been brought to bear against immigration laws - overloaded to the point the system ceases to function. Requires funding though.

If you’re early in your career, I’d encourage you to pursue it in the institutions of government.

The loss of smell is a result of the immune response - cytokines and immune cells; distinct from congestion and can be permanent.

In the early 90s I had temp work in the admissions office at UM. They gave me a pile of applications to go through, and wanted it separated in three piles: women, minorities, white males with GPA>3.5. It was even more blatant then in the respect it didn’t have all the diversity, equity, inclusion cover fire. This has been around a long time.

If you trace this back to the social unrest of the sixties, it seems much big what we’re confronted with now is a festering wound inflicted by the Soviets during the Cold War.

You can’t project sexuality on them when they’re pre-sexual, but you can phuck up their understanding of gender.

I think what we saw under Trump was that just showing some intention to enforce the law was sufficient deterrent. This isn’t a crisis at all in that it has been willfully induced.

This is what dismays me when I see right side media going with the storyline of ‘border crisis’ the response to which is then ‘do something’. But the something won’t be law enforcement, rather some Lindsey Graham mass amnesty immigration reform.

Which would it be? Mass amnesty, statehood for DC & PR, a $3T green new deal, universal health care, student loan forgiveness or reparations? It’s all well cloaked in the disguise of compassion. There was a assault weapons ban in the 90s, I don’t think there was much reaction. The abomination of the Patriot act still stands. The federal agencies are already in use against political dissidents.

The left is advancing through soft power projection. A hard power response, justified or not, is likely to backfire politically. ~500 are currently being rounded up for Jan 6. The word ‘free’ translates to entitlements not freedom to a large constituency - you have the 48% but also the debt serfs who will gladly make trade away the constitution just as they do with privacy to big tech.

Perhaps the left over plays their hand but we watched all last summer as they burnt their own cities. Maybe other events conspire in our favor - I will do whatever I can for Trump 2024. In part though, the nature of the threat is the scaling of gov bureaucracy and corporations through technology to global scale, the over financialization of everything. I don’t see that reversing.

The idea that the end goal is some dystopian future isn’t the case. The left wants the US to be California or Europe. Britain has speech police and a cowed Public. You’ll be poorer and less free, but you’ll get your gov’t cheese and everyone will tell you how equitable it is at the bottom with single payer this and that. There isn’t going to be a civil war because this is the slow slip of the knife. There’s not going to be a moment where the ‘one more gun control law’ is enough to stake your life and livelihood on. The moment when the wholesale loss of your inalienable rights has passed. You want it back go be a US history teacher or law school to be a Hawaiian judge.

Openly questioning so they can be identified, demoted, removed is about what it will amount to.

“ by a homeless man who spewed obscenities in an unprovoked attack“ That told me everything right there. This isn’t the hate crime you’re looking for. What is the racial dimension here? Hobo Supremacy?

The plague of the 1300s occurred and re-emerges over decades. HIV has been around since 1980s so 30M deaths is over forty years.

It’s a counter factual/circulars to say China-19 is insignificant so the reaction was unjustified. We don’t know how it would have played out without themeasures taken. And whatever outcome we have now is the result, good or bad, of what was.

I didn’t say SCOTUS!

Just the same, yes that’s my point. In 2016 GOP held POTUS, along with majorities in both houses of Congress, majority of state houses and governors. Democrats were effectively a regional party. To what effect? A tax cut which will now be reversed. The ball didn’t move on immigration, abortion, school choice, gun rights, federalism, what have you.

The most straight forward response when the left ran with Russia gate would have been to respond with Voter ID. The election was hacked? Okay here’s an election integrity bill.

chestblaster 2 points ago +2 / -0

With 2020 and the level of fraud presumed, the prospects of recourse through elections seems unlikely.

Legislatively, I can’t remember of the last time the GOP moved the ball on any social issue.

We saw that the judiciary provides no relief, even with five conservative justices.

The military is getting gutted and we’ll soon be disarmed.

I think we’re about to be fundamentally transformed as foretold by Socialist Messiah.

You’re over-correcting on that, military leaders serve civilian leadership. The closer they get to the top, the closer they’ll align with DC politics out of self interest; the RINO-effect. The left is working diligently to corrupt the military, the effort to find ‘white supremacists’ in the ranks and pushing DEI/CRT, but don’t assume there aren’t willing participants. The founder of Black Rifle coffee made big Obama donations.

This is a Project Veritas video from 2013 by which point Obama had already effected a purge of senior officers. It’s struck me at the time, we’re perhaps at the last mile in the long march through the institutions. Just watch the last guy at the 10:00 mark:

The irony that it was taxpayers paying for the foot soldiers directly to nonprofits like Acorn, La Raza, CAIR, or indirectly by settlements between regulatory agencies and corporations (Sen Warren’s CFPB) requiring similar payment by corporations to ‘community organizations’.

That, but the possibility seems like a “Waiting for Durham” theatre production. Alternatively, It’s just until they can disarm you, flood the country with the illiterate/impoverished, destroy any remaining electoral process, can’t hide dementia Joe any longer. Simplistic explanation is the troops are just a stage prop in yet another psyop-hoax to frame Trump supporters as extremists.
