No, if this were someone who wanted to make the pandemic look bigger they'd do it a different way. I'm sure the way they found it was someone was doing statistical analysis on the numbers and found that ages 0-10 had extremely high/unexplained numbers of deaths/infections compared to everyone else.

Age is okay. In the medical field if they're copying patient data to somewhere else they always use the age instead of birth date in order to protect the person's privacy.
