It's absolute lunacy to allow modeling that is by it's very nature a guess at best to drive policy decisions that have serious real world and long term impact on the citizenry. When families lose their livelihoods because we "had to make sure we flattened the curve", who will be held accountable? There's zero consequence for the models being wrong yet we just accept it. And the experts can always say "well it wasn't worse because we ruined you financially...it worked!"

It seem like a massive leap to say "this could happen" to "we know this is going to happen" and it seems pretty irresponsible. Speaking to Ohio we have 11 million people. On the low end that would be 4.4M and on the high end 7.7M infected. Today, we have 704. Not thousand, not million. Seven hundred and four. (I know, I know....but muh exponential increase.)
If what could happen is the barometer for when we plan to return to some semblance of normality, it is increasingly clear the plan is to drag this out a long, long time. Especially when the public is being told by officials things like "we KNOW 40-70% of us are going to get it".
No, we don't know that. We can't know that. As such, at what point do we say, enough already, let's make the best of it and get back to work, or enough already, let's all dig holes in our yards, curl up and die?
