reddit.com/r/amateurradio is a friendly community that can help guide you. I'm a ham myself. There's plenty of used gear out there to be had at a discount. Antennas are easy and cheap to make, I wouldn't recommend spending a ton of money on an antenna, especially when first getting into it.
If you're looking for local communications (5 miles or less, or at least get into a mountain top repeater) then you can get a 2m/70cm handie-talkie. You can find Baofeng's UV-5R for $35 or so (it's cheap Chinese stuff). If you want Japanese made, look for Icom or Yaesu stuff, you can find used for $100 or so.
If you're looking to do HF so you can talk around the world, you're looking at $500-$1000 for a setup. You'll need a radio, power supply (or battery), coax, and make an wire dipole antenna.

I don’t see the debates happening. I see this quiet buildup to Election Day, where the Dems will try to steal the election through mass voter fraud with mail in ballots. I have yet to see any Biden 2020, Dems aren’t proud of their candidate. It’s as if they aren’t concerned about convincing anyone to vote for them, they have some sort of plan.

So I can have a 6 year prison sentence instead of 2?” I agree, lots of talk, didn’t do anything. I truly don’t understand why we can’t start locking people up. SC pede here. Two of my moms coworkers had it. One had serious symptoms, probably should have been hospitalized, the other asymptomatic. A couple at my church had it, both with flu like symptoms. My wife’s friend and her husband had it, flu like symptoms.
Nearly 30 year NASCAR fan here. NASCAR has had an identity crisis ever since Earnhardt passed. They had a short term bubble in the mid 2000s, destroyed it with a car redesign and have been struggling to get it back. Any idiot could look at pictures from the garages from the last race in October and see the pull ropes were there...NASCAR should have stopped it then. Unfortunately, Trump is wrong about the TV ratings, they’re up (46% over last years Indy race, actually...8% since the Confederate flag controversy).
SC has had some viable alternatives to Graham, we just can’t get them through the primary. Graham has the money, and says enough good things in election years to keep getting elected by people who don’t pay attention.
